Design Your Own Health & Fitness Plan


If you’re interested in losing weight, there are many diet plans on the market. However, a great way to lose weight is to work with your primary care physician or other professionals to design a health and fitness plan tailored to your specific needs. Particularly, if you have medical problems such as joint pain or diet issues such as diabetes, it is good way to ensure that your physical limitations and dietary needs are taken into account.

If you are designing your own health and fitness plan, be sure to include these three essential elements:

A Reduced Calorie Balanced Diet:
For healthy weight loss, consult your doctor to learn what an appropriate number of daily calories is for your body type. Then design a balanced diet and nutrition plan around this calorie amount. A healthy weight loss diet should include whole grains, lean protein, low fat dairy, and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Limit high sugar foods and simple carbohydrates.

Aerobic Exercise
Aerobic exercise is essential for fat loss. When you begin to exercise, your body burns carbohydrates for the first 15 minutes. After this time, it begins to burn fat stores for energy. The more cardio exercise you do, the more fat you burn. By adding cardio exercise to your daily routine, you super charge your weight loss plan. Aerobic exercise is also extremely good for your heart. Find an aerobic exercise you enjoy, and add it to your schedule on a daily basis.

Strength Training
Muscle burns more calories than fat. By increasing your muscle stores, you are increasing your fat burning abilities. When adding strength training for weight loss, work with low weights and high repetitions. This will add long, lean muscle for a toned appearance. Keep in mind that if you are adding muscle to your body, you may not notice a dramatic difference on the scale. Muscle weighs more than fat. However, your body fat percentage will decrease drastically.

To supercharge your weight loss, you need to add three things: a healthy diet plan, aerobic exercise, and strength training. These three items are essential to losing weight in a healthy way. Pounds will drop off gradually, leading to long term consistent weight loss. By adding these elements, you are developing healthy habits that will last a lifetime, instead of simply succumbing to the newest diet fad.
